3 Residential Home Cleaning Hacks You Should Remember

Posted on: 25 June 2020

Does it seem like your home is always messy and disorganized? While it can be stressful to keep things tidy, you can learn a lot about keeping things clean from the professionals. Here are three residential home cleaning hacks you should remember, and how they could help you to create a beautiful home.

1. Analyze Your Mess Before You Make A Plan

Before you start cleaning up a mess, take a few minutes to evaluate the nature of the problem. Are clothes strewn throughout your house or do the kids have a difficult time putting things away? Pay close attention to which objects are on the floor, so you understand how to address the problem effectively. Pay attention to what needs to change in the space, and always declutter when you can.

If children's rooms are a problem, remove as much of the extra clothing and toys as you can to keep those items from being thrown onto the floor. Try to pare down what kids have in their rooms, so they don't have the chance to make as big of a mess.

2. Refrigerators Are Easy To Clean Warm

One of the reasons refrigerators are so difficult to clean is the fact that many foods become firmer when they are chilled. From butter to syrup, messes inside a cold refrigerator can seem impossible to remove.

However, if you can allow your refrigerator to warm up to room temperature, those messes can be tidied up in a snap. Empty the contents of your refrigerator into a second unit or a large cooler, and unplug your refrigerator to give it the chance to warm up. When it is warm, start cleaning the interior.

3. Clean Your Bathroom and Tub At the Same Time

When you clean your bathroom, you will likely use a large amount of general purpose cleaner to wipe down tub decks, counters, and to mop the floor. To make it easier to mix enough water and cleaner, plug your bathtub and add water and cleaner to the basin. Use the solution to clean surfaces in your bathroom. When you are finished, use the solution left in the tub to clean the entire interior of the bathtub, then rinse it down the drain with fresh water.

If you can't seem to stay on top of your own cleaning, think more seriously about investing in a residential cleaning company. By working with professionals, you can sit down and discuss the health and safety of your home, while also talking about your personal cleaning goals. You never know, by making the right moves beforehand, you can dramatically improve the way your home looks and feels.

Teaching Your Kids To Clean Properly

If you were to tell your kids to clean your entire house top to bottom, how well would they be able to handle the job? Sometimes, even kids that are old enough to haul the vacuum upstairs can struggle to do the job effectively, which is why it is so important to focus on technique from an early age. I started thinking carefully about cleaning methods a few months ago, and it was really interesting to see how much of a difference my efforts made. Within a few months, my kids really mastered crucial concepts, and I was really pleased with the progress. Check out this blog for more information.
